Practice Makes Perfect
Driving Range
Durbanville Golf Club has a purpose-built Driving Range of 13 open air bays, enhanced by a putting green, practice chipping areas and a practice bunker. Managed by Pure Motion Golf Academy (PMGA), the range is open during daylight hours, 7 days a week. Balls may be hired by the bucket during PMGA office hours which are as follows during the summer months:
Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:30
Saturday: 06:30 – 16:00
Sunday: 07:00 – 16:00
Winter hours may vary slightly.
Members of Durbanville Golf Club may purchase one of five discounted bucket packages ranging from Bronze (20 Buckets) to Premium (360 Buckets) which allow biometric access to balls from the Range Servant ball dispenser outside of office hours.
Packages are valid from 1 January – 31 December each year and may be shared between family and friends, provided they are also members of Durbanville Golf Club.

Pure Motion Golf Academy
Durbanville Golf Club is proud to partner with the Pure Motion Golf Academy (PMGA), the leading academy of its kind in the Western Cape.
Founder and Director of Golf, Lana Orgovanyi has 30 years of international experience as both a successful amateur and touring professional golfer. She has an extensive and impressive international coaching record, working with some of South Africa’s best amateur and professional golfers touring all around the world today.
In addition to the state of the art golf technology for swing and putting analysis, PMGA has a Certified TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Instructor who offers a short physical screening of the player’s body movement and how the movement patterns could be restricting or affecting their golf swing and creates a tailored exercise programme accordingly.
The highly successful AIM Series brings family and friends together allowing golfers of every level to test their short game skills. As each player progresses through the series and achieves their AIM score, or better, the distance that they start from will increase by 25 metres at the next event but their AIM stays the same. It’s an ideal opportunity for all ages and abilities to take part – mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters can make it a family occasion and we have seen some stunning improvement from several youngsters.
The dedicated team of PMGA coaches are available seven days a week to provide coaching and professional advice for every level of golfer in the family.

Pure Motion Junior Academy

The Junior Golf Academy has suitable lessons for all juniors ages 4 -18 years of age. Junior Academy Members (JAMmers) enjoy discounts on lessons and perks throughout the year.
- Grassroots (4 – 6 year olds group lessons) utilising fun activities and SNAG® equipment.
- Youth Group and Individual lessons for 7 – 18 years of age.
- Customised lessons and rates like Family Sharing discounts for families with more than one young golf enthusiast in the family as well as Combo Lessons that allow a young golfer to participate in both Group and Individual lessons weekly.
- Specialised Lessons are available for the serious competitor in the family giving them the benefit of focused performance based lessons with their personal coach as well as guidance from the Director of Golf, Lana Orgovanyi.
JAMmers of all ages continue to turn in competitive wins throughout the Western Cape and beyond as is evident from the PMGA’s regular social media posts where they proudly share the juniors’ achievements and love of the game.

The Pure Motion Golf Academy Junior Order of Merit (OOM) competition is for course ready juniors aged 6 – 18. This 9-hole competition is extremely popular and valuable to the development of all juniors. We also provide the shortened Kickstarter course option for our younger juniors who find the standard course too long. OOM provides all juniors in the Western Cape an opportunity to play on our Golf Course and become accustomed to playing in a competitive environment complete with end of year prizegiving for participation, achievement and improvement awards.
The PMGA Holiday Programme happens during school holidays over a 3 day morning programme. Juniors take part in skills challenges, games and on-course play. It’s an ideal opportunity to experience golf in a fun and focused environment and play together. There will be a prize giving and pizza on the 3rd day. Parents are welcome to pop in, snap photos and share in the prize giving ceremony.
